Day #5

Day #5 is not much better. Pain is still making itself very present and with no relief from the medications, I do believe it is taking its toll on the Shankster. After much trial and error I did manage to find a couple of things that he could swallow for nourishment this morning, as ice cream, pudding and jello were just not cutting it for breakfast.

I found that the prepackaged creamy oatmeal went down easily and made him smile. The smile has been few and far between since Friday... Now this was not like the regular oatmeal he loves usually that made him want to scream when he tried it Sunday, as it went down rough and thick and hard to swallow. Its funny as you really don't know how thick or rough some foods are that you think are soft until you can't chew at all and you have stitches on your tongue.

I also made some Raspberry Tea for a change from regular tea and water for the Shankster.

This is my only problem. I think that the Shankster may lose a bit of weight from this not finding anything substantial to eat, but I think I just may gain it, as I have to try everything I make for him to see if it is edible, then eat it when he cannot so not waste it, along with my usual meals, of course.

Man, I can't win for losing.....:)
