Mission Accomplished

Once again I have been summoned to sew something. Wasn't real happy about it as at that moment I didn't have a clue as to what to do. "M" had decided that K.B. was going to be a clown for Halloween. Evidently "B" was one and used this outfit when he was between 2 & 4.

Now for the life of me I cannot remember that, but this outfit was in the hope chest of clothes & other things I had saved from when he was a child, so it had to be his. I had given all the clothes to them when K.B. was born. I do remember several Halloween outfits in there, I remember a Clown Wig, Batman Cape, Superman Cape, Dreadlock Wig and a couple of Scary masks. But cannot remember this outfit.

Now seeing how this is, at the least, 30 years old, it needed some repairs done. "M" asked for the waist to be repaired as the elastic was....well, for lack of a better word, gone to crap. But since she found no hat with it she asked for me to make him a clown hat to match. Trick was I had exactly 2 weeks to do it, as she had made an appointment for K.B. and C to get pictures taken with their Halloween outfits on.

No pressure.

So here is the finished product. I decided on a jester type hat. Not the best but I think it will do.

As I was repairing the outfit, I see that it has been handsewn. I made a lot of things when B was little, I made his bedding covers, curtains, pillows, so I am wondering if I made this? I never really knew how to put in elastic and it shows on this, so I may have made this but cannot remember. I hate how I have lost some of my memory. I am hoping to find some old pics of B during that age to see if he has this on. Guess its out to the barn soon.

I am happy with the finished look, I think the hat can be worn again during the holidays. I will just take off the fuzzies & bells and he can wear it in the snow. Don't ya think?
